Celebrate Park(ing) Day in St. Louis!

Join the St. Louis Treasurer’s Office on Friday, September 18, 2026, as we celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Park(ing) Day and transform parking spaces across the city into creative community spaces!   Enjoy live music, family-friendly activities, and unique pop-up experiences while we reimagine our streets and celebrate the people who make St. Louis great.

What’s a Parklet?

A temporary public space created by transforming a standard parking spot into a micro-park activation — a place for people instead of cars.  A Park(ing) Day parklet typically includes seating, activities, or interactive elements that invite people to pause, explore, and engage. The core idea is simple: take one curbside or lot space, re-imagine its purpose, and build a small pop‑up environment that reflects your organization’s mission, creativity, or community spirit.

Examples – Barbershop, Yard Sale/Thrift Store, Arts & Crafts, Library, Photobooth, Bike repair, cafe, outdoor classroom, Music Stand (busker), STEM activations, etc.
